Choose the file you intend to print
Use the original or final exported image, rather than a screenshot or a small messaging preview. Our checker accepts JPEG, PNG and WebP files up to 12 MiB and 60 million decoded pixels. It reads the selected file in your browser. Unsupported formats can still be planned by entering their pixel dimensions manually after inspecting them in an image editor.
Verify orientation and finished dimensions
The checker uses the decoded orientation, including supported image orientation metadata. Compare the displayed preview with the orientation you intend. Enter the finished print width and height in inches, centimeters or millimeters. These are physical dimensions; do not substitute the pixel dimensions or file size in megabytes.
Compare the two placements
Calculate once with Fit and once with Fill. Look at the effective PPI, retained image area and preview together. Supply your own target PPI or the provider’s requirement. Passing that numerical target does not check focus, color, compression or the quality of the subject detail. If you edit the pixel dimensions manually, the local photo preview is removed so it cannot misrepresent those new dimensions.
Know what leaves the browser
Selecting an image does not upload it to this site. The share link contains the calculator’s numbers and options, not your photo or its filename. The CSV contains those inputs and the numerical result. A printed result can include the currently visible preview, so inspect it before sharing. Clear the tool to remove the selected image from the page. External sites linked in the references have their own practices.
